Re: Wagon Shop
In Response To: Wagon Shop ()

I've been working my way through the Citizens and Business File in Footnote.com, and I have yet to find any mention of a transportation depot at Mt. Pleasant. However, most of the surviving records seem to be from prior to the summer of 1863, and the depots seem to be most active after that point. Also, there are relatively few records for the Northern subdistrict, which includes Bonham, Mt. Pleasant, Jefferson, Gilmer, and Tyler, as opposed to the Eastern and Southern subdistricts which focus on San Antonio, Houston, Hempstead, and Navasota. I'm *far* from finished, however, so I certainly won't say there's nothing there for Mt. Pleasant.

What I have found are receipts for transportation to move equipment for Titus County companies to join the 11th Texas Infantry in Tyler, early summer 1862.

Do you know the name of the person in charge of that facility?
