I am searching for a brief pre-Civil War biographical sketch of John M. Huffman. Along with Ricahrd M. Gano, he helped recruit two companies of cavalry that eventually became known as Gano's Squadron, Texas Cavalry. A brief newspaper account in a January 1862 Dallas newspaer stated that he was a doctor. Your help will be very much appreciated. Please cite sources.
