Sam A. Willson, Capt. Co. F, 1st TX Inf. was captured at Gettysburg. I have his NARA military record and read a brief excerpt about his stay at Ft. Delaware, where he escaped "between July 7th and 12th". I know that he returned to his unit, but do not see him on a muster roll again untl July, 1864. It could not have taken that long and muster rolls were not taken regularly late in the War. Can anyone tell me if Captain Willson had rejoined the 1st TX in time to participate at Chicamauga?
