D. B. Thomas appears on a Muster Roll of Captain J. Good's Company (Dallas Light Artillery)*(State Troops] dated February 22, 1861 at Dallas, Texas, no further records

* A few of the members of this company subsequently served in Captain Good's (afterward Captain Douglas') Company Texas Artillery

[Note: It would appear that he did not transfer to Captain Douglas' Company as there exists numerous muster rolls for that organization in which he does not appear]

Jan & Feb, 1863, stationed at Shelbyville, Tenn.
Mar & Apr, 1863, stationed at Shelbyville, Tenn.
May & June, 1863, stationed at Tyner, Tenn.
Sept & Oct, 186e, stationed at Missionary Ridge, Tenn.

This Battery was engaged in two different positions in the Battle of Chickamauga, Ga. It unlimbered in 80 yards of the enemies breastworks assisting Polks Brigade in the last assault on Sunday evening in which the last of the enemy were drivnd from their Strong hold

Nov & Dec, 1863, stationed at Dalton

My company was mustered for pay on the 31 day of Dec By Heur Carroll of Garrites Batty a day for two after mustering, the company he Received a leave of absence and absented himself without signing the Rolls. He has since been killed at Mobile, Ala and I have been authorized by Gen. Joseph E. Johnson to sign the roll myself. Jno. H. Bingham, Lt. Comdg Douglas Battery

_______ to Feb 29, 1864, stationed at Dalton, Ga

Remained in Camp since date of last muster until the 23 of Feb when we received orders to move to the front where we took position in line of battle and remained until the 28 of February when we were ordered back to our old Camp. The Federals having fallen back from our front

July & Aug, 1864, stationed near Palmetto, Station, Ga.
