From what I understand, from family, he was at Camp Colorado and possibly was a supply officer under Colonel Norris in 1862. I also have a copy of a form which is a muster roll of "Captain Wm. F. Robison/Robeson (not very legible), 2nd Frontier District XXX Volunteers, commanded by Major G.B. Erath by XXX under the Act of the 10th Legislation approved Dec 18th, 1863, from the 6th day of February 1864, when mustered, to the First day of June 1864". It lists him as a Capt, 40 yrs old, Comanche, enrolled by F.M. Collier. This copy is from the Comanche library and not very legible. According to family, he first enrolled in 1862 as a 2nd Lt and promoted to 1st Lt in 1863. It is said that he was at Camp Colorado, Brown County territory (now Coleman County). I think he might also have been at Camp Collier in south Brown County. I don't know which unit he was in or when and where he died. I have looked for a death certificate. We do not have any paperwork on him and the stories are handed down via word of mouth. I have looked through many websites searching for information on him. I have looked under the various spellings of his name.
He was born to Samuel M. Robison and Lucinda Hall. William is listed as a "male" on the 1830/40 Macon Cty, NC Census. I believe he went from NC to Texas via Arkansas. I cannot find his military data or a death certificate. Coming from a military family, we are very interested in finding info on him and preserving it for our family. I have tried through relatives to find some more information on him, but to no avail. All I have are stories handed down through my 74 yr old father, who was told stories by his grandfather and other (now dead) relatives. Any guidance would be appreciated. Debbie
