Rountree, joined for duty October 20, 1861 at Velasco by J. W. Brooks for the war, last recorded present on the Jan & Feb, 1863 muster roll, no further records

* This company was known at various times as Captain Rountree's Company and (1st) Company C, Bates' Regiment Texas Volunteers; Captain Rountree's Company Texas Partisan Rangers and (3rd) Company I, 13th Regiment Texas Infantry. The company was divided March 28, 1863, and part of it organized as (2nd) Company K of this regiment.

Cavalry Companies A, C, I and K were transferred to the 12th (Brown"s) Battalion Texas Cavalry and formed the 35th (Brown's) Regiment Texas Cavalry November 9, 1863
