I was not able to locate a census record for him.

Jerry/Jerre Metcalf, age 33, enlisted as a Private in Captain A. M. Truit's Company, Randal's Regiment Texas Lancers,* April 2, 1862 at Buena Vista/Shelbyville, Shelby County, Texas by A. M.Truitt for 3 years or the war, recorded June 30, 1862 as a Teamster in Q. M. Department, later recorded as Brigade Teamster, last shown as being employed on extra duty at "Near Pine Bluff, Ark." during the month of January, 1863, no further records.

* This company subsequently became Company A, 28th Regiment Texas Cavalry

was soon dismounted. It was assigned to Polignac's, Randal's, Maclay's
brigade, Trans-Mississippi Department. In mid-1864 one company was
transferred to the 19th Texas Infantry Rgt. It fought at Mansfield,
Pleasant Hill and Jenkins' Ferry. It disbanded prior to the June
