Enlist April 11, 1862 at Ft McCulloch, I.T.
Mustered in May 12, 1862 at Ft Washita, Chickasaw Nation
Discriptive record; height 5-10, Hair; dark, eyes; blue, complexion; Fair, age 24.
Occupation, carpenter; born in Arkansas
Horse valed at $150.00; Rigging (saddle, gun, bowie knife & ect.) $30.00
all cards show him present or accounted for on detached duty.
None show him as captured.
The records end at the period of Jan and Feb 1864 at Harrisonburg, La.I have no idea which battles they where in except Newtonia, Mo Sep 30,1962, I'm sure they saw action in La.

I have no idea if there where indians in the unit of if it was because it was formed in the
Indian Terr. that it was called the 1st Indian Regt.

The 22th Regt Texas Cavalry. was known at various times as 1st Indian Regt Tex Cav;
Merricks Regt Tex Cav dismounted; Taylor's Regt Tex Cav; Taylor's Regt Tex Mounted Rifles;Stevens' Regt Tex Cav;Stone's Battalion Tex Cav. and Merrick's Battalion of inftranty or dismounted Cav.
