Pvt. George Washington Simmons, age 28, enlisted Oct.1 & mustered in at Marshall,Texas Oct. 7, 1861 in Capt. E. T. Broughton's Co. Gregg's Regt. Texas Vols. (became Co. C, 7th Regt. Tex. Inf.).
He was carried on the muster roll of his Co. as sick in Miss. until Aug/Sept 1863 before being changed to dead.
