Re: Likens' and R.R. Brown's 35th Cavalries ?

Dear Patricia,

For Ruben Brown, please add service in the Texas Revolution. He had quite a fight at Refugio.

For James B. Likens, please add the following service in the Mexican War:

I suspect but can not prove service in Maribeau Lamar's Company 1846-7 (father was 2Lt and brothers served as Privates)

I can prove the following:
1st Regt, Texas Mounted Volunteers (Col Jack Hays), John Long's Company, served as a Private May 3, 1847 to June 2, 1847. (older brother was a Private, too)
AND
P. Hansbrough Bell's Regiment, Texas Mounted Volunteers. Capt. Samuel Highsmith's Company, served as a Private May 15, 1848 to December 26, 1848. James B. Likens father was 1st Lt and older brother was 2nd Sgt)

Notice the progression in ranks for the family from 1846 to 1848. James was the youngest.
