THE STATE OF TEXAS}
COUNTY OF COLLIN} I, Joseph I. Chastain, do solemnly swear that I will support the Constitution and Laws of the State
of Texas and also the Constitution and Laws of the Confederate States of America so long as I remain a Citizen thereof
and that I will true allegiance bear to the same And that I will discharge the duties incumbent on me as a Captain of a
company of the state troops of the 2nd Regt., 15th [Militia] Brigade to the Best of my skill and ability so help me God.
