18th Tx Calv, Co B capture at Arkansas Post, et al

Looking for any info on my g-g-grandfather, Gabriel L. Page, b. 30 Oct 1830 (NC) & d. 6 June 1911 (NC). Have record of his muster in to 18th Tex Calvary, Co.B, 18 Jan 1862. Have record of him in Overton Military Hospital, Mephis, Tenn, noting his "capture 25 March 1864....remarks: Guerilla" but have no idea what this means. Oral family history tells me he was taken prisoner at Ark.Post, but have no record of capture, imprisonment, or the prisoner exchange release that I am told of. He somehow rejoined his unit (?) and was severely wounded in the battle of Chickamauga, & endured an amputation of his leg. Also been told he eventually was fitted with a wooden leg in Richmond hospital. Can anyone shed any light on the few details that I do have and direct me to proper websites and sources?
