Christopher Schroeder was enlisted in Waul's Texas Legion, which was from the Brenham, Washington County area. Most of Waul's Legion was captured at Vicksburg, Miss. in July,1863. After the men of the Legion were exchanged(in mid July), they returned to Texas and many of them enlisted in Timmon's Regiment, which guard the Texas Coast for the remainder of the War. The Website Find A Grave, has a Christopher Schroeder buried in the Rast Cemetery nortwest on Brenham.
