Not directly related but more of an FYI--it seems that the National Archives has a register of the General Hospital at Shreveport and at least two men from the Engineering Corps are listed as being either transferred to or from Keachi, one in 1864 and the other in 1865. All it says on the card is Transferred--Keachi. These are in the Confederate Service Records--Miscellaneous microfilm. I don't know how many others might be there--I'm only in the early part of the B's with annotating them online. It would be very interesting to get a copy of the original document. Has anyone seen it?
