I am trying to assist someone in finding any and all information about Texas Confederate Soldier Jon Riley Mitchell (1832-1897), born in Upsur County, TX.
Said soldier is supposed to have been a Private in the 14th TX Militia, Company E, whom was taken captive in the Battle of Galveston. No end date of enlistment is known.
