State of Texas, County of Caldwell
Before me John W. Gambrell County Judge of Caldwell County Texas, this day personally appeared Sam Garner and J. P. Hellum personally known to me to be credible witnesses, who having been duly sworn, on oath depose that they were during his life personally acquainted with D. P. Roberts now deceased, that they personally served with the said D. P. Roberts in Captain Coke's Company, Ford's Regiment of Cavalry Confederate States of America, that deponent enlisted in said company in 1863 or 1864 and at the time of their enlistment said D. P. Roberts was a member of said company; and that they served with said Roberts in said company until it was disbanded at the close of the war, and that they know that the said D. P. Roberts never deserted the Confederacy.

I have not found any rosters of Cocke's Company. I am trying to reconstruct it piece by piece.
As far as I can tell, it was made up primarily of boys and old men.
