I am researching Ridgely Greathouse who was reported to be with Showalter and Terry when they were picked up along the Arizona Territory border. His family history also places him with Showalter in Mazatlan at the Planters Hotel. Greathouse was involved in the Chapman Affair of 1862-1863, a failed attempt to outfit a schooner as a privateer for the Confederacy. Has your research produced a list of the men detained at Yuma and later released?
What do you know or what sources do you recommend about the Confederate exiles in Mazatlan?
