D. P. Goodwin, Private, Company K, Young's Regiment Texas Infantry,* enlisted May 12, 1862 at Hill City for 3 years, recorded on the Jan. & Feb., 1864 muster roll** as, absent, in arrest, no further records, his file contains correspondence between the Adjutant General, War Department, with the Oklahoma Board of Pension Commissioners dated September 16, 1915

Note: This would indicate, he or his widow filed for a Confederate pension as a resident of the state of Oklahoma

* This regiment completed its organization about February 2, 1862, with ten companies, A to K. It was officially designated the 12th Regiment Texas Infantry but was known in the field as Young's and as the 8th Regiment Texas Infantry and it was finally paroled as of the latter designation.

** This is the last surviving muster roll for the company which precludes knowledge of his subsequent service
