Andrew McClure Pyeatt was from San Saba County, Texas. There is a Burnett County connection in that his brother, William Dudley Pyeatt, married in Burnett County before moving back to Missouri where the family had immigrated from in the 1840s. Andrew McClure Pyeatt and his family and parents, Jacob and Olivia Pyeatt, were on the same wagon train that went from Texas to Los Nientos, Los Angeles County, California. Jacob Pyeatt died along the way near Fort Cummings, New Mexico and was buried beside his lifelong friend, Billy Cole who had died on that same journey the previous year on a wagon train with his nephew, George W Cole. The wagon train the Pyeatts were on was mostly made up of the Cole family and they joined a 4 wagon train headed up by Willis Newton who wrote a manuscript in the 1920s about this trip. J. S. Burchett is probably related to Andrew McClure Pyeatt through marriage as Andrew's wife was Mary Vinah Birchett. I have further information on my Pyeatt website on Angelfire.com.
