I am looking for John T. Edwards who was a sargeant and lieutenant with Co. F, 16th Texas Inf. , from Bellville in Austin Co. His father of the same name was an original settler in the Austin Colony. I think there is a strong possibility that he may have gone to Mexico with Shelby. He was not in the 1870 census. He had a son born in Mexico. Have you run across him in your research?
