Use some help in finding a short bio of Col. Trezevant C. Hawpe, 31st Texas Cavalry. The last time I was in Dallas I found some newspaper accounts about him being killed in a knife fight while arguing over hogs he was buying for his regiment. I don't know much else, other than his reports on events at Newtonia and his resignation shortly afterwards.
