Thomas P. Hightower, age 45, Captain, Capt. Thos. P. Hightower's Co., [Note, All from Falls Co.] Waller's Battalion Texas Cavalry,* joined for duty and enrolled April 23, 1862 at Hempstead for 3 years or the war, among those who lost their horses, equipments and arms in the skirmish at Bonnet Carre, La., Sept. 7, 1862, value of horse $250, equipments $50, recommended for discharge due to disability on Surgeon's Certifcate September 24, 1863, resigned 1863, believe December when J. R. Morris was elected Captain Dec. 30 replacing him
* This company subsequently became Company B, Waller's Regiment Texas Cavalry.
Waller's Regiment Texas Cavalry was first organized as the 13th, or Waller's Battalion Texas Cavalry with five companies A to E.
