Samuel Carroll Martin

Does anyone know if the 7th Texas Infantry, Company E had a soldier named Samuel Carroll Martin, born in 1816 in Tn and joined the Texas Inf. in 1861. At that time, he was living in Knoxville, Texas. He would have been about 45 years old. His son, William R. Martin was also in the 7th Tx. Infantry, Company E. The son did not make it back home, but Samuel Carroll Martin is buried in Old Knoxville Cemetery in Cherokee county, Texa.
Thanks for any help on this man. Annelle
