I am researching Richard G. Gillespie. He first enlisted in McCulloch's 1st Regiment Texas Cavalry in 1861. At his second enlistment in 1862 he became part of Waul's Texas Legion which contained elements of infantry, cavalry and artillery. Per the Handbook of Texas, LtCol Leonodias Willis was the first commander of the cavalry battalion. Where can I find where his battalion battled and possibly a list of wounded/captured/paroled?
