Augustus H. Rogers was born in 1839. He was mustered into service with the Fourteenth Texas Infantry on January 16, 1862, at Camp Murrah in Pittsburg, Texas, in present-day Camp County.

Having enjoyed the pleasure of a visit to Camp Murrah, I have thought it not improbable that many of your readers who have relatives and friends in Col. CLARK’S regiment and particularly from Harrison County, would be pleased to hear from that locality.

The camp is located about 11 miles east of north from Tyler, Smith County.
