In Response To: Mercer Fain ()

Mercer Fain, 2nd Lieutenant, Company B, Mtd. Battalion, Texas Vols., (War of 1854-5), AAGM & ACCS, no further records

M629: Index to Compiled Service Records of Volunteer Soldiers Who Served During Indian Wars and Disturbances, 1815-58

This is a verbatim copy of the one card in this file.

Fain, Mercer, see roll dated June 30, 1863 of Co. A, Wells Battn. Texas Cavalry, CSA, which shows him as the enlisting officer of a number of men at Fort Arbucke, Ind. Ty.

In a request for the record of Josephus C. Parr, it was alleged he was transferred from Chickasaw Battn. in 1862.
Thus it seems probably Mercer Fain was connected with the Chickasaw Battn. Cav. (no rolls)
