I know quite a bit of time has expired since your posts pertaining to The Ybarbo family and the Cordaway ,Cordiway ,Cordway. I have run across those names before and thought that I would mention them to you. Hopefully you are still reading the posts. In the listings for Texas Confederate pensions are Maria Antonio Ybarbo , Nacog. Co. #04189 , Rahena Ybarbo , Nacog. # 04807 , Vital Ybarbo Karnes Co. 11502 , Mrs. Vital Ybarbo Wilson Co. 38020 also the Cordaway etcs. Angela Cordway Hildalgo Co. Rejected. , J.C. Cordway Karnes Co. 02368 , Manuel Cordway Karnes Co. 06626 , I've tried to type them as presented and not to change lettrers. My suspicion originally when I ran across the surnames as presented that they were probably written in that form due to lack of communication. My guess was that the Cordways were actually Cordovas. On Texas Gen . Web one can look up Hidalgo Co. Where J.C. passed away and look up Donna City Cemetery and it actually has a picture of his Monument. He is listed as J.C. Cordova. It is marked in Spanish but has the traditional dates Birth and death and says dedicated by his Son L. A. Cordova. Also near the bottom it ha a C. V. --- Co. A. The State Archives has a webpage where you can look up pensions , indigent families etc. One can order Pensions and they are very good . Costs I don't recall but they are very accessible. Also if you have access to Amcestry you can look them up on line and essentially see what you would look at in Austin. There are a few Glitches but it is still very neat. Hope this helps some.
