Brain Congestion is a common finding in White Snakeroot poisoning. The neurotoxin tremetol appears to leave fatty degeneration in many organs including the Brain (aka: Brain Congestion in the 19th century). The plant appears to be indigenous to the North American Continent. It had been killing much of the population in the 19th century, and leaving many others permanently debilitated. The poisoning was also called Milk Sickness.
