Re: Henry Davidson 11th Texas Inf.Regt CSA

ok- a short bio...He seemed to live a long life after the war. I will send you the pension and death cert and burial infor (headstone photo)

Henry Childs Davidson was born April 6, 1844 in Alabama and at 77, died of malaria, June 20, 1921, Vanzandt Tx. It appears he lived and farmed in Mebenk (sic). He married Lucinda Bane. They had many children, about 8. He is listed in the 1880 VZ, Tx Census. He had two brothers, both in Civil War, Thomas Leviticus Davidson and George Washington Davidson and one sister, Maragaret. Per death cert his father is listed as Henry Davidson and that he is married (no widow listed). He is buried in Baird, Van Z, Cemetery and has a CSA headstone.
At 62, Henry C Davison applied for the Conf pension and was approved for Conf Pension about 7mos later in 1908. He listed the complaint as rheumatism. His belongings listed as wagon and team (1 mare, 1 mule at $65 each) and corn ($15). The reason not being able to work also listed “piles”. He was enlisted until “it ended”.
