Thanks for the VA info. I was unaware of their rules. To clarify, I do not need a headstone, as one already exists. Rather, I was hoping there was a medallion or something that could be attached to the existing headstone that would commemorate his service. Regardless, I still want to confirm that service, as verbal family history is clear that he served. I checked the Texas Pension records with no success, maybe because of my ignorance on how to navigate through that maze.
