Working on geneology in Collin County. Particular interest in a great uncle and his possible burial location in Louisiana following the Battle Of Milliken's Bend where he was wounded. Researching Fitzhugh's 16th Texas Cavalry (dismounted). Researching a potentially lost confederate camp just West of Melissa, Texas known as Sherley Springs, where I have evidence of training/drilling/enlisting of different units during the war. Need any info regarding this. Local historians have have no knowledge of such a place. I have reason to believe Ive identified a location.
