I just found a document dated Feb 1863 between Hamilton P. Bee, Havana Cuba, and Matamoros Mexico for 6000 muskets and bayonets (although not stated I think these were Enfields) priced each at $12 to be paid with cotton at 25 cents per pound, with 1/5 of the weapons being retained by the custom house authorities in Matamoros Mexico as their fee. =Wow!
