I got a book entitled CONFEDERATE FROM EAST TEXAS, It seems to be based on the Watson family letters during the war and focuses on Jim (James Monroe Watson). He was John and H. Benton older brother, born in Marion County, Tennessee on August 8, 1834. I guess I found everything I needed except H. Benton Watson death date at Corinth, Ms. In this book it says Jim was 27 when he enlisted, Benton was 23 and John was 18 when they enrolled. I'm not sure but it looks Jim enlisted first and maybe Benton and John joined together later. Jim enlisted as a private on September 25. 1861, in Captain John M. Thompson's Mounted Company G at Quitman, Texas. In Arkansas when Jim's unit was dismounted he was detailed with others to take the horses back to Texas. I can't find it now but he was on this detail for several months. I found it Jim was on detail from April 1862 until March 1863. Thanks again George for your time.
