Re: Likens 35th Texas Cavalry Roster

Good, you have everything I have. The location of the shoe shop is a mystery to me. The quatermaster department had various shops and manufacturing facilities all over Texas. I know of one leather shop in Cherokee County and another in Hill County. The one in Cherokee County was given orders every month or so by the quartermaster to provide whatever was needed at a given time. It could have been saddles or bridles or boots or shoes, etc.

Also keep in mind if Pvt Gentry's leg healed, he might have been eligible for active service and sent back to his or another regiment. Not saying that is what happened, but there are simply too few records.

If you have a picture of or CW letters from Pvt Gentry, I would appreciate a copy.
