Mike this what I've found out so far: His name was Cornelius Washington Hudson born in Springfield, Mo Oct. 28, 1845 and died Jan. 10, 1929 Jackson, County Vanderbilt, Texas. His death certificate #4631, F-A-G memorial Id #67291017 and is buried in the Edna Cemetery (the Edna Cemetery goes by several names) Edna, Texas. He was a doctor of Osteopathy. I'm not finding any military records on him, but his link to Dr. Benjamin Thomas Crumley as fellow Assistant Surgeons may have come through serving together in Smiths Co. A, 13th Texas Cavalry. Its the angle I would check out, especially if Smith's 13th Texas Cavalry was at Mansfield and Pleasant Hill, La.
