Your right some things don't fit or just don't seem right. I also noticed the 1st Asst. Sergant on the Pension App. for Dr. Crumley. He was known as The Old Indian Doctor, he seemed to heal by herbs, berries, roots and maybe a little magic. There's quite a bit written about him, he must have been a real character. He wore his hair down below his shoulders and looked like an Indian from the time frame. I would say also that he didn't have a medical degree. The young age for Dr. Hudson is suspect. What I found odd for him was on some census, his occupation was listed as blacksmith or farmer. In 1915 Dr Hudson made a good witness for Dr. Crumley's wife's Confederate Pension. I would say both men knew each other during the war and maybe worked a little medical care together in Northwest Louisiana.
