Didn't this unit operate for a while, as an independent company after they were assigned to the Carter / Parsons stupidity in Arkansas. It is a shame thar Carter had such a strong supporter at Confederate Headquarters. Because of him Parson never mad General. Seems to me that Alf's company got cought at a Fort at the bend of a river and many were killed and captured. Those captured were later paroled and shipped east. Those who escaped either ended up in Little Rock or Vicksburg. Alf was finally killed in battle. Wish I hat Between Texas and the Enemy in front of me. If I remember he was sorely missed.
