My direct ancestor was Crill Miller, last commanding officer of the 2nd Texas Partisan Rangers. I know a great deal about this unit...However, until today I did not know that they had assembled at Tahlequah. Somehow this makes sense to me although I have other readings that they assembled in Lousiana, Arkansas and Dallas, Texas. Many of their members came from the 6th and 3rd Texas Cavalry as did another ancestor, William Cartwright who stayed in the 3rd Co E. Ishum Chisum had previously commanded this Company.
