Re: Special Project: Hood's TN Campaign

Bruce: I only had Lt. Col Wilson as (Severely wounded and captured) at Murfreesboro in December, 1864. If he died from his wounds in a Federal Hospital in Murfreesboro, Tennessee then he most likely was originally buried in the
CSA Cemetery there among the approximately 2,000 Confederate Dead from the War. In the mid 1900's the cemetery was dug up and the Confederate Dead were moved to Evergreen Cemetery, Confederate Section (Mass Grave) few markers, only a handful known) and the cemetery lasd was used to build a gas station!!

There are a few web sites which list a few of the Known CSA Dead there (taken from the monuments put up by the SCV/OSB in the 1970's I believe. I checked, but his name was not among those listed.

If you can confirm anything about his death, it would be of assistance to my Cavalry Research Material. I have over 100 pages of casualties for Forrest' Cavlary Corps.
Thanks again, Tim Burgess
