When Gen. Churchill and his Missouri troops made their charge in this battle, there were 3 regiments of Texas Cavalry posted on their right flank. According to some accounts, the Texans warned Gen. Churchill of hidden Yankee soldiers in the woods on that flank. Do any of you researchers happen to be familiar with this incident, and know which 3 regiments were involved? This action is one of those obscure actions that never gets written about. Thanks, TCW
