Re: Lane's 1st Texas partisan rangers

Alan Pitts,

Amy Plowman of Iowa studies the Ferrell family of Cass County as well as the Clemmon family of Parker
County. ..She sent the following info on a member of Crump's Cavalry, Lane's 1st Texas Partisan Rangers
that I thought may interest you.

******************

Edmund Andrew Ferrell, Co B. 1st Regt. Texas Rangers (Tex Calv.) Lanes Regt., Entered 1862 dischg Jul 2, 1865. This is sketchy but I ordered the pension file and not military record. John A. Durrett and wife Mary A. gave statements for him.

Edmund Andrew Ferrell. I just got his Pension file. I have him Edward from census spellings he is Edmund the same Edmund A. and Bettie Ferrell in your files. (his father was Edmund G. Ferrell who left his wife in Ky and divorced her). Not well thought of by his descendents, Edmund may have gone by Edward...but he signed his name Edmund.

Edmund Andrew Ferrell, b. abt 1822 Barren Co., Ky (working on exact date graves are unmarked..died
penniless. Can't locate him in 1900 yet; he died 24 Feb 1905 Prescott, Nevada Co., Arkansas buried DeAnn cemetery (same county) married 2 Feb 1862 (1 Feb date was license) Cass Co. Tx to Elizabeth Dunn (b. 18 Dec 1841 Cherokee Co., Georgia-d. abt 13 Aug 1914 Dallas, Dallas Co., Tx, bur. DeAnn cem, Ark, 4 children)

I am looking into them as Mary A. (Durrett) is born Barren Co. Ky also. She appears to be Edmund's sister.
