My G Grandfather, Pvt. R.L. Wallace, was listed on 23rd Texas Cavalry Regimental Returns for March 1865 as 'Detached with Brig. Ord. Offs.' It does not appear that he was ever captured prior to the regiment disbanding at the end of the war.
