Re: Camp Hardeman

Jerry,
I'm still have trouble with your 'dates'. Did it take Gano from August to November to get to Bonham?

Hardeman did not have a brigade, he was just temporarily in command in the interim between Bankhead and Gano. This was Bankhead's Brigade. Gano took Bankhead's place, arriving at Camp Hardeman on Nov 1, 1863. He was ordered to report to the Headquarters of the District of the Indian Territory -- which was at Camp Hardeman -- on October 25, 1863. This was not in 'the early spring of 1864'. I don't think this camp existed after the 'Texas Brigade' left on November 2, 1863.
