Re: Camp Hardeman

Jerry,
You realize, of course, that your latest posting contradicts your claims of your earlier posts.

What is the source for the October 10th date for Gano's arrival at Bonham?

Where is the October 23, 1863 letter from Steele to Magruder?

You stated:
"These units are combined to become Col. R.M. Gano's Texas Brigade and was moved towards Fort Smith."

I disagree. All except Gano were already at Camp Hardeman IN THE CHOCTAW NATION where Gano arrived with a company of men on November 1st.

You also state: "It appears to me that Waldron Arkansas was the location of Camp Hardeman."

Waldron is on the Line Road in Arkansas. Camp Hardeman, from which Steele writes on November 1st is in the Choctaw Nation.
