If you discover anything more, please feel free to tell me as however small you feel it may be, it will still be greatly appreciated.
That is the most I have seen about Col. Gillum.
According to the diary, Kirk was in Tyler, Texas near the end of the war.
Apparently this man Robert Adams Kirk did consider Arkansas home and returned when the war was over to central Arkansas. He was originally from Hardeman County, Tennessee and born in 1825. According to some information found in a will he was dead by 1871.
My group is trying to broaden the base of information on R. Kirk and we have had some success.
