Re: Texas CSA grave located/help with info

Jamie, This is a really old posting but I just now found it. You probably have already solved your questions. Although I have some info on Joseph Britton Singletary. He was born 13 Jan 1843 in Thomas Co., GA; d. 15 Feb 1892 in Turkey Cr, LA. He was the s/o William Singletary & Susan Wood. He 1st married 16 May 1867 to Sarah Frances Trayler, she was born 6 Apr 1847, died 14 Jul 1883. Joseph, married 2nd 19 Jan 1884 to Martha Smith Monk, she was born 17 Dec 1859 & died 3 Aug 1919.
Joseph & his 1st wife Sarah had 8 children. Their were other children by his 2nd wife as well, although I believe some of the dates of birth are not correct as the dates are after Joseph died. This info can be found in "The Singletary Family History"

In the list of Confederate Soldiers from TX their is a listing for Joseph B. Singletary,PVT, Co E. 27th TX Calvary, Whitfields unit. (I am also a Whitfield descendant)
I have this information because I am a Singletary descendant, not from Joseph but from the same ancestors.
This Joseph is the 8th gen. from Richard Singletary the immigran to America. I am the 10th gen from Richard, the immigrant.
