Found: Texas grave (help ID)

My wife has a co-worker whose son belongs to a hunting lease in Texas. This lady has sent me a 8x10 photo of a grave the young man states he found "In the woods". It is was the only grave he said he saw. Here is what I know so far about the headstone...

It is a VA style marker with the standard southern cross image at the top. It reads... "John W. Briggs; CO.A: Lane's Texas Cav: CSA".

I saw no matches for a search of this name at CWS&SS. I also could not find any reference to "Lane's Texas Cavalry" there or at the "Texas in the Civil War" page.

This may be an old home place of some sort the young man walked up on. I would like to learn more about this soldier to pass along to him. I also would like to know if there is somebody cataloging Texas CSA graves so this find doesn't get lost again.

Thanks in advance for the help!
