Mr Pittman, Thanks for your reply. I do have a copy of the Muster Roll of Capt John Scanland's Squadron, Co., A Texas Calvary, June 30, 1862-June 30 1863. My Great/grandfather Marcus M. Landers is the 7th name on the list, PVT enlisted 18 Nov 1861 for 3 years at Ft Arbuckle by Mercer Fain.
Sorry I did not add much info in my original posting.
I mainly wanted to know more about the Squadron. I do know he served in Indian Ter. but I wanted more info & thought maybe someone else here might have had an ancestor in the same company that would know more.
I also believe he left the service when his 3 years were up
as in 1864 he had a freight business delivering supplies on the Frontier. In 1871 he was caught in a storm near the Red River & froze to death.
