Here is a little info. on the 6th.

The 6th Field Artillery Battery also known by it's nickname "Austin Light Artillery" Organized in June 1861.It mustered in on October 14,1861. It was armed with two 24-lb. Howitzers and four 12-lb. Napoleons in August 1862. Designated as the 6th Field Battery on November 19, 1864. It was armed with two 24-lb Howitzers and two 12-lb Napoleons in May 1865. Surrendered by General E.K.Smith, commanding Trans-Mississippi Department, on May 26, 1865.
