Camp Ford

Is there a roaster of guards at Camp Ford? Susposely my GGfather John A. Thompson from Chorekee County was a guard there.(family says he walked from Tyler in a rainstrom caught cold and died of pneumonia).I know he died in 1864 and is buried in Jareret cementery in Cherokee County. I also know that his wife drew a pension for his service and his family was listed as indigant.
Thanks Mike
